Easter Nail Art

Yesterday I was wasting time on Pinterest, which is a daily occurrence for me.  While looking at wedding inspirations and new ways for me to tie a ponytail, I found this great link to a cute rug.  The New Preppy Zig-Zag Rug.
Cute!  If I had a room I could put this rug into, I would.

Like many, I dig chevrons and dots.  Both are versatile and add a bit of whimsy to a great color manicure.  I have been thinking about Easter nail art and wasn't sure I really wanted to go over the top in the design category...Then I saw the rug link and realized this is kinda perfect for me.  I love geometric, dots, and color. VOILĂ€!

Thank you Pinterest for once again filling up some do-nothing time at work and providing me nail inspiration at the same time.  :)

Nail polish used from left to right: Julep Claire, Zoya Perrie, Zoya Cassi, NYC Midtown Mimosa, and my thumb is Butter Jaffa.

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Work It Wednesday! Starring Julep Shenae

It is Work It Wednesday lovelies!  It is time to walk those pretty little fingers down the red carpet of nails!

As it is a holiday week, it seems like Julep's Shenae would be a perfect spring color to walk to red carpet.  Shenae is from their March 2013 Maven Box.  It is a pastel mint green opalescent with a hint of shimmer.

I like this color.  It only takes 2 coats for complete opacity.  This shimmer is subtle, but pops in sunlight.

WORK IT!!!!

Mani Monday on the town!

A day late, but my Mani Monday went on a trip yesterday and got home pretty late. Here in Miami, it is the second week of the annual Sony Open Tennis Tournament.  So it seems only natural to do a tennis mani!
This mani is a tennis fan and is waiting for the Serena Williams match.

I used Zoya's Mitzi for the tennis ball nails.  The thumb is Essie's Beyond Cozy.  The court is a mix of
Essie's Pretty Edgy, Sinful Colors Amethyst, and the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in white.  Mitzi is actually one of the Mate Velvet Mod colors from Zoya and I tried to keep the integrity of the finish.  But without a top coat, the white lines were wearing off as I was getting ready to leave the house.  So I topped everyone off with Seche Vite rapid dry top coat before dashing out the house.

Sadly the Sally Hansen nail art pen gave me too thick of a line for my tennis court nail.  Next time I think I will use an actual brush to get the thinner line I was looking for.  How do you find the nail art pen for smaller, thinner lines?
My left hand is all tennis balls with one Beyond Cozy glitter nail.  I'm a righty, so my left hand wasn't ready to attempt a second tennis court.

I am pretty happy with this manicure.  It was fun and pretty easy to do and a great learning experience with the nail art pen.  Love - 15, Nail Art Pen!!

Manicure of nails gone past

It is funny when you look back on the pictures of the past, all that you see.  I realize a few things: I REALLY like an accent nail, I need to stop using my phone to capture my nails, my house is really dark. Because my house is naturally dark, I have been taking pics while in my car, at red lights, on the way to work.  EEEK!!

The nails: Thanksgiving turkey mani, dachshund, snowman, gradient, Zoya dots, Zoya pixie dust, St. Patrick's day colors, mermaid, and mummies inspired by TopCoatIt

I am looking forward to upping my game a bit by striving for natural light, better cuticles, and real life color with my real camera as we move forward.
More nails: OPI Liquid Sand, valentines medley, christmas colors, my "habit",  julep floral, dots, jelly sandwich, and minnie mouse.
I think this is a collection of creepy hands.  :)  it just looks a tad bit odd with a collage of straightened fingers...matte mani, neon, stamped hearts, stamped stripes, candy corn inspired, julep dots, halloween themed, chrome, stamped animal print.
So bear with me as I adjust my nail pictures and continue to explore with polish.  I have been having fun so far, but there is so much more to do!

Inaugural Post

Hello lovelies!

This will be my first post of, hopefully, many about all things nails.  A quick introduction, my name is Bethany and I'm a 30-something year old that is starting a blog while planning my upcoming wedding....crazy!!  I have dabbled with nail polish for as long as I can remember, sometimes with great success and other times...not as much.  I would polish them up, watch them chip off, and then start the whole process over again.  Then thorough the wonders of Pinterest I was seeing all the great things a lot of talented women were doing with their nails.  And WOAH! It has been inspiring!  Since then, I have been dabbling here and there and enjoying the process of nail art.  My friends on Facebook and Instagram may not be as excited to see my nails at such a frequency.  ;)  So, I am starting this blog to join a community.   There are so many of you lovely ladies that have inspired me and shown me all the fun things you can do with nail polish.  It is because of the true art that many of you do, that has inspired me to play with polish more than just to spruce up my naked nails on occasion.  Keep on eye out for some nail art, nails on the red carpet, some catch up of some of the things I have done in the past, and an occasional post from my helper dachshund Frankie.

So hello nail blogosphere!  It is nice to meet you!
